Artstart
ArtStart is a NSW Government initiative for young people in NSW aged 12 to 24. The program builds skills and community networks through creative projects and events, highlighted in a two-week biennial festival held across the state.
RipeOnline, leaders in online strategy and community building, were engaged to produce a website that would be a central reference point for the festival’s programs (past and present) and also provide an ongoing home for Artstart during the festival’s off-season.
surfacemedia was
then engaged by RipeOnline to design the website’s interface, and integrate a Content Management System to allow the site to be self managed.
Solution
RipeOnline worked with Artstart to identify user profiles and interaction design requirements through a series of workshops. surfacemedia then created an interface design that would appeal to the youth sector. It incorporates imagery from a broad cross section of visual and performing arts, and features flash animation.
The solution involved the integration a Content Management System that allows Artstart staff to create and manage website content with ease.
The website features user registration and log-in for site members to contribute content to the site’s Web2.0 enabled ‘Studio Spaces’.
