As the peak industry body for Victoria, the VWIA is charged to provide an effective voice for representing and promoting the interests of the grape growers and wine makers. Members of the Victorian Wine Industry Association form a strong network of businesses that reflects the depth and breadth of the wine industry across Victoria.

To further develop and support this network, The Victorian Wine Industry Association worked with surfacemedia to assist them in creating a new website called Wines of Victoria.

Solution

The organisation required a site that would serve both the general public and industry members. A sophisticated and robust content management system was implemented enabling site administrators to manage the contents of both environments easily.

The solution for the general public included a comprehensive guide to Victoria’s wine offerings. The guide features an advanced search tool that allows visitors to search and filter content by events, wineries, cellar doors and regions.

Industry members are able to register and pay for membership to this online resource. Membership provides access to secure member pages containing industry information and tools to assist them manage their business.

The website has provided VWIA with an additional vehicle for promoting Victorian wine regions and fostering international links that will in turn contribute to ongoing export growth for this industry.
