
Surface Media is proud to have worked with the Collingwood Football Club on their 2009, 2010 and 2011 membership websites.
Each year we have worked side-by-side with graphic design agency Spike Creative to design and develop website interface designs for the Magpies that make it easy for supporters to compare membership package benefits and choose the right package for them and their families.
In 2010, our solution included the first Interactive Package Selector for an AFL club, featuring a series of question-based pathways that help supporters navigate to a membership package that best fits their needs. Users can then access further details about the package and then purchase online.
From the time when the Collingwood membership website was first launched for the 2009 season, online membership sales increased from 1,500 to nearly 10,000 per year, bringing the total number of Collingwood members who will renew online in 2011 over 20,000. This is a sensational result for the club and one we are very proud of.
For the 2011 membership site we wanted to increase the level of interactivity, user engagement and usability even further. We carried out a review of the website structure and redesigned the site to make it easy for users to find exactly what tools and information they require. The interface design utilises rich media and the latest web technologies to give the user a set of tools that are fun to use.
