Diversity Council Australia (DCA) is the independent, not-for-profit diversity advisor to business in Australia. DCA has a member base consisting of many of Australia’s largest and most well known companies
Surface Media has worked with DCA for several years. Most recently we worked with DCA to develop a digital strategy for DCA with the aim of increasing membership and retention and streamlining business processes. Using the digital strategy as our guide, we then completely re-designed and re-developed the DCA website to integrate an advanced membership management system and events registration tools.
Solution
The first steps towards creating the Digital Strategy involved undertaking a Discovery phase to enable us to fully understand the requirements for DCA and its members as well as gaining a greater level of insight into DCA’s business requirements, internal processes and objectives.
Following the initial digital strategy work, we developed a content strategy for the DCA website to suggest how content could be delivered to members and general website users in a way that was more logically structured, more engaging and of greater value to users.
The website was custom-built for DCA based on their membership requirements and allows users to sign up online to become a member, register for events and login to access secure members-only content.. The member database is completely integrated with the website to enable automation of tasks such as event and renewal notifications and confirmations, and sending passwords to new members. Because the website and the member database are fully integrated, this allows DCA to manage both website content and member data in one central system. It also allows DCA to capture a wide range of data and facilitates detailed reporting.
Other features of the site include functionality for polls, an audio/video gallery for members and an event management system that enables DCA to set maximum attendee numbers, record event attendance, set event reminders and more.
The user interface was given a facelift to give the website a fresh new look.
