Nick Farr of Trek Climb Ski has been inspiring, motivating and educating people on their boutique travel adventures since 1995. Their small and committed team have a passion for personal service and their tours to destinations such as Aspen, India/Kashmir and Nepal are quickly establishing themselves as one of the best run tour companies in Australia. With three separate websites running for three different purposes, Surface Media was approached by six windows consultancy to redesign and develop all three websites for Trek Climb Ski – rolling them in to one unique and all-inclusive online service.
The design brief was to reflect the strong values held by the Trek Climb Ski team; Educate, Motivate, Inspire. With new trips to be added over time and unbelievable imagery from some of the most remote places on the planet, large format photography and a content management system including a dedicated client-managed image server were essential features.
The website scope was accurately defined through a series of discovery sessions designed to focus in on the functional needs of both organisational and end user objectives. Following this, our user experience design team created a breathtaking look and feel for the site before integrating it with a content management system and eMarketing distribution platform.
With a major marketing push looming our team pulled out all the stops and delivered the site live in under 3 weeks! The customisation of existing open-source technologies to fit the requirements of the brief was integral in making sure that the client could manage each and every page, gallery, image and adventure down to each full stop.
Combining the website with an eMarketing newsletter template and subscriber management system means that Trek Climb Ski can continue to offer a highly personalised service to their existing and future clients.
The end result was a great looking, highly engaging website that was honoured with an Interactive Media Award (IMA) in 2009.
